About 5 paces below Hull Road, 11.5 miles northwest of its junction with Road 306, Glenn

County, California Shrub 6 1/2 feet tall, with burl, smooth dark maroon-brown bark, bright

light green leaves, flowers white and numerous; east-facing slope, near south edge of

population. Soil gravelly loam of the Maymen series, shallow phase, overlying

metamorphosed sandstone (schistose shale); associated with A. canescens, A. elegans (>),

Quercus chrysolepis, Q. wislizenii, Pinus attenuata, Pseudotsuga menziesii, Garrya

congdonii, and Cercocarpus betuloides.
