Plant specimens examined
for the original 1985 checklist were
identified using Munz and Keck (1959),
although problematic determinations were checked against Jepson (1925), Abrams (1923-60)
and other sources. Nomenclature and suprageneric
taxonomy for this1999 revision follow Hickman (1993). Annotation
includes: scientific name and author;
common name (where known); habitat as given in Hickman (1993); phenology (flowering
season), and selective vouchers. The
list is arranged phylogenetically by division, class and order, but alphabetically
by family, genus, and species.
