Presenting the official
Davis Botanical Society T-shirt!
True to the serious purpose of the society, to raise awareness of and
financial support for the UC Davis Herbarium and Botanical Conservatory, and to our
preference to accomplish both parts of that purpose as practically and with as
little pomposity as possible, we are proud to introduce the logo for a new
T-shirt.
Short sleeve T-shirts are all cotton, pre-shrunk in natural, blue, and green with a
black logo. Unisex sizes S-XL are available at a cost of $12 for members and $15
for non-members, plus $3 for
shipping for a total of $15.

Systematics is grounded in plant history, and the design draws from several
sources. It combines the Society's formal logo, with acorn and vernal pool grass
culm representing the specialties of Tucker and Crampton, respectively, with the
whimsical plant press originally drawn for the California Floristics laboratory
manual by Barbara Webster, Professor Emerita of Agronomy. The phonetic rendering
of the herbaria's mission, according to June McCaskill, sprang from the lips of
a student answering the telephone one day. And now you know.
