Welcome to the UC Davis Center for Plant Diversity!
1026 Sciences Laboratory Building (J.M. Tucker and Beecher Crampton Herbaria)
Why would anyone keep a collection of dead plants? (find out here)
Joe Ditomaso of U.C. Davis takes us an a tour of how to identify common weeds using traditional methods employed in professional settings like the U.C. Davis herbarium, and also the latest and easiest techniques that employ the use of sophisticated computer programs available to the public.
The UC Davis Center for Plant Diversity has received two National Science Foundation grants! The first, in collaboration with the Consortium of California Herbaria, is for databasing specimens of California plants that are likely to be affected by our changing climate. The second is for creating a Euphorbiaceae website with images and taxonomic resources for identifying several large genera; see: Webster Virtual Herbarium and Links.
